One of the most coveted 1016s, the R and L serial Explorers represent the penultimate and final iteration of the plastic crystal Explorer. An enduring icon of a lost era, this is a beautiful example to add to the collection.

Case

Thick case with straight lugs. There is light surface wear on the lugs, but no major dings or scratches. Numbers between lugs are clean and visible to the naked eye. Bezel retains sharp edges and also has only superficial scratches.

Dial

Original matte tritium dial in excellent condition with matching hands.

Bracelet

Comes one a 78360 oyster band with 13 links and 580 end pieces. The band exhibits only very minor stretch.

Joshua got his start in the business early, causing trouble at the European Watch Company store at a very young age. Eight years ago, he officially joined the family business. The European Watch Company has been a fixture on Newbury Street in Boston for over 25 years, and was started by Joshua's father Albert. In the store they carry a fine selection of both new and vintage watches. Joshua's real passion lay with vintage watches, as he as worked hard to expand their business in that area with his knowledge of various different brands, not just Rolex.
